Early gold Patek in a Lilpop box

A fine and very rare Swiss, 18K gold lady’s pendant watch in an L.M. Lilpop fitted box, circa 1848. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Made by Patek & Spólka Genève. Made for the Polish market in 1848, sold to Mr Kwiatkowski on August 22, 1850, for 153 francs. Case with a flat coin-edge band, spring-loaded back cover engine-turned and florally engraved. Gold hinged cuvette with winding and setting apertures. White enamel dial, mounted by two screws, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. Bar calibre, frosted gilt movement, hanging barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed in Polish, movement punched with Patek’s trademark.

The case is slightly rusted, the movement is oxidized and the dial is damaged.

A good example of an early Patek in a Lilpop box. Lilpop was Patek’s Polish representative, and one of the members of his family worked for Patek.
