A rare English 18 carat gold pair cased repoussé verge pocket watch, circa 1762. Full plate movement, chain and fusee, three arm steel balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals and decorative hands. The outer case with a mythological scene in high relief, probably of Alexander the Great, import stamp V for the Netherlands 1814-1831, the plain inner case with maker’s mark DA. Movement signed and numbered.
