Gilt and with snakeskin-covered verge by Naudin
–
A rare French hour- and quarter repeating Oignon with a striking mechanism, circa 1712-1725. This watch boasts an original gilt case and is adorned with snakeskin on the outside. It is powered by an extremely rare and beautiful Oignon movement with silver decoration and ornamentation on the pillars. The watch also features a magnificent silver balance bridge, with the plate signed, and can repeat the hours and quarters on bell. The original dial of the watch is particularly stunning and in very rare condition, with enamel cartouches, Roman numerals, and Arabic minutes. The watch also showcases filigree steel hands that are exceptionally beautiful.

The watch is in excellent condition for a 300-year-old Oignon and is of exceptional quality. Only the snake skin is no longer original and has been renewed. In working order, the repeater should be adjusted.
