A fine and rare Russian 14K gold and enamel hunting-cased keyless presentation quarter-repeating pocket watch, probably present watch of the Russian Tsar, circa 1900, movement made by Le Coultre & Co.
Gilt movement, 29 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Polished case, the front with applied gold Imperial Eagle with blue enamel ribbon, gold hinged cuvette.
White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold Spade hands. Cuvette signed in Cyrillic, movement signed Le Coultre & Co. beneath the hammers.
