A Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set scarab form watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1900. Oval gilt lever movement. Glazed cuvette. Concealed white enamel dial with Roman numerals. Beetle form case, hinged wings with translucent blue enamel over an engine turned ground highlighted with diamonds, chased head with ruby set eyes, reverse realistically chased and engraved.
