An unusual 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating automaton watch, circa 1900. Nickel lever movement, highly jeweled, bimetallic compensation balance. Glazed cuvette. Central white enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds below, polychrome enamel figures flanking the dial, the right with a knight in armor striking a bell held by a figure of a cherub, the cherub moves to and fro, in unison with the strike, at left a courtier striking a bell above, the whole applied to a gold matte ground. Polished case.
