A very fine and rare Swiss, Louis XV-style, keyless, 18K yellow gold pendant watch with repousse case decoration by G. Mantz, circa 1900. A Louis XV case, box-hinged, chased repousse, the bezel with chased foliage pattern and case back depicting Venus, Roman goddess of love and beauty, on a dolphin surrounded by cherubs, asymmetric foliate border. Hinged gold cuvette.

White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track with 5-minute gold numerals. Yellow gold Louis XV hands. A rhodium-plated movement, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement à moustache, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator with graduations engraved on a centre bridge, wolf’s tooth winding wheels. Dial, cuvette and movement signed, case signed G. Mantz.
