Full hunter cased watch with minute repeater
–
A heavy, large and complicated astronomical full hunter cased watch with minute repeater and chronograph and a total of seven complications, made for the Russian market in Switzerland, circa 1900. This watch was crafted from 14 carat gold, has an engine turned back lid and a numbered cuvette marked “1 Qualite”. The original white enamel dial has two apertures for the day of the week and the month (in Cyrillic), subsidiary dials for moon phase and age at six o’clock and the day of the month at twelve o’clock and pink gold hands. The highly complicated glazed movement has a Swiss precision lever escapement and seven complications: a triple calendar, moon phase and age, a minute repeater and a chronograph.
