Fine gold watch with chronometer escapement

A very fine gold full hunter cased watch with chronometer escapement, ‘Chronomètre Genève’, made in Switzerland, circa 1900. The numbered case of this watch features three lids crafted from 14 carat gold and its cuvette is marked “Chronomètre de precision” and “Breveté” (Patented). The white enamel dial is marked “Chronomètre Genève” and features Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The very fine Geneva chronometer movement is fitted with a detent chronometer escapement, a helical hairspring, screwed gold chatons, a fine adjusting device and is marked “Chronomètre”.
