Gold hunting cased keyless lever watch
–
A fine late Swiss/European 14 carat yellow gold full hunter pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical crown winding gilt Swiss lever movement protected beneath a gold toned inner protective cuvette. The white enamel dial shows bold black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track, Louis XV style hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The timepiece is housed in a substantial round two cover, 14 carat solid yellow gold hunting case. Both covers feature finely engine turned patterns, with the front cover centring an unengraved blank cartouche surrounded by decorative scrollwork. It also has a delicately fluted winding crown and a sturdy suspension bow.
