Gold and enamel repoussé lady’s watch

A very fine and elegant Swiss 18K gold and enamel Art Nouveau lady’s keyless pendant watch, circa 1900. Comes with an 18K gold, enamelled and pearl-set detachable brooch.
A Louis XV case, polished bezel and band, the back matte with repoussé relief decoration of a flower, the petals overlaid with matte opalescent enamel. Hinged gold cuvette. The brooch with a flower in high relief overlaid with opalescent enamel and set with a central pearl, the back naturalistically chased. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with large Arabic five-minute numerals and gold Louis hands. A matte gilt movement, bar calibre, eight jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.

A fine example of Art Nouveau artisan jewellery, the matte finished opalescent enamel creates a subtle and rich effect reminiscent of that of the Tiffany workshop of this period. The brooch is highly finished, even the back chased naturalistically with the underneath of the flower.
