C J & A Perrenoud & Co is a prominent Swiss watchmaking establishment based in Le Locle within the canton of Neuchâtel. Founded in the nineteenth century, when the Swiss Jura region was rapidly solidifying its global dominance in precision horology, the firm specialized in crafting high grade, mechanically sophisticated pocket watches. They gained distinction in international trade for their exceptional decorative artistry, frequently manufacturing luxurious timepieces housed in solid gold cases embellished with intricate hand engravings, vibrant champlevé enamels, and meticulously set pearls or rose cut diamonds tailored for premier global distributors. Beyond their aesthetic achievements, the Perrenoud family remained a deeply influential force in the technical infrastructure of Le Locle watchmaking into the early twentieth century, contributing to the manufacture of precision anchor assortments and developing advanced automatic machinery that transformed the commercial viability of complicated repeating and chronograph movements across the Swiss industrial landscape.
