Gold hunting cased manual wind lever watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold full hunter pocket watch with matching gold vest chain, circa 1900. This watch has a mechanical manual wind movement with a straight line lever escapement, a compensation balance, and a Breguet hairspring. The inner gold cuvette is engraved Ancre ligne droite, balancier compensé, spiral Breguet. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track with Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and slender hands. The timepiece is housed in a substantial 18 carat yellow gold full hunter case with a fluted winding crown, a decorative round suspension bow, and a beautifully engine turned back cover centred on an ornate shield shaped cartouche engraved with monogram initials, bordered by rich floral scrollwork.
