An unusual French, multi-coloured, yellow, white and pink gold turquoise set key-wind pocket watch, circa 1730. Accompanied by a turquoise-set key. Made for the South American market. The reverse with applied yellow, white and pink gold in radiating pattern, black circular cartouche to the front, containing two turquoise stones, and reverse. Gold, engine-turned dial with raised Roman numerals, central herringbone pattern, outer multi-coloured applied gold wreath. Blued steel moon hands. Gilt full plate movement, plain pillars, fusee barrel, pierced and engraved continental cock with polished steel endpiece, verge escapement, gilt three-arm balance, silver regulation dial.
