Gold lever pocket watch with apocryphal signature
–
A Swiss 18 carat gold minute repeating keywinding hunting cased soap pocket watch with an apocryphal Patteck, Genève signature, from the early 20th century. The movement is mechanical, featuring crown winding, a lever escapement, a spiral balance, advance/delay adjustment, and a striking mechanism with a two hammer minute repeater on a gong. The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, a minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial, and Louis XV style hands. The gold case is round, with hinges, and decorated with stylised initials. Inside, there’s a gold bowl with technical inscriptions about the mechanism’s operation, and an apocryphal Patteck, Genève signature. It comes with a period wooden case that bears the retailer’s name.
