A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical manual wind movement with frosted gilt bridges, a cylinder escapement, and an index regulator marked with French terms Avance and Retard. The white enamel dial features black painted Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with black dots and Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and rose gold Louis XV style hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat rose gold open faced case with a smooth bezel and a double gold cuvette inner lid. The back cover has an engine turned barley grain texture surrounding an ornate cartouche engraved with flowing initials, bordered by floral scrollwork, and bearing a horsehead hallmark inside.
