A rare Swiss 18K yellow gold keyless adjusted extra lever chronometer pocket watch with Guillaume balance, circa 1911. For entry in the 1911-1912 Geneva Astronomical Observatory Timing Contest, achieving an Honourable Mention. Presented to Dudley Baldwin Palmer in October 1913.

A polished case, concealed hinge, hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with heavy Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel Breguet hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, engraved twice with the movement number, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line counterpoised and calibrated lever escapement, Anibal brass Guillaume balance with winged arms, gold and platinum temperature adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet overcoil balance spring, diamond endstone, swan-neck micrometre regulator. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
