Gold engraved open faced cylinder watch

A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. This watch has a mechanical movement with a cylinder escapement. The white enamel dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, fitted with gilt Louis XV style hands. A fine hairline crack is present on the dial surface. The round 18 carat gold case features a hinged back, delicately engraved with a floral and foliate border surrounding a central shield shaped cartouche with a monogram. The watch is equipped with a matching gold inner cuvette and is numbered. It features a pendant winding mechanism with a fluted crown and a push button for time setting. The caseband shows some minor denting.
