A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. This watch has a crown set manual wind mechanical movement with a lever escapement and a bimetallic compensation balance. The white enamel dial shows painted black Roman numerals for the hours, a railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and spade shaped hands. The watch has a plain, round, three body solid gold open faced case with a fluted crown and a double gold officer’s back cuvette. It is presented in a matching wooden box.
