Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by Remontoir in Genève, circa 1900. This watch has a keyless winding manual movement with lever escapement. The white enamel dial features black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute markers, a subsidiary small seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold toned Louis XV style hands. The timepiece is housed in a substantial three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open face case with a polished bezel, a fluted winding crown, an adjacent small pin set pusher for time setting, and a sturdy round suspension bow. The solid yellow gold back cover is finely decorated with a guilloché engine turned pattern centring an unengraved shield shaped cartouche. The watch is accompanied by a matching fitted presentation box.
