Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement and a solid 18 carat gold inner protective cuvette, hand engraved with floral scrolls around the technical details: Ancre / Ligne Droite 15 Rubis / Spiral Breguet / Balancier Compensé. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and delicate gold hands. The timepiece is housed in a round three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case. The reverse back cover has a finely engine turned pattern centring an intricately chased floral and scrollwork cartouche with an engraved monogram, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
