A fine and unusual French, 18K gold pop-up travel watch in the shape of a knight’s helmet, circa 1950. Finely chiselled and decorated, engraved floral pattern, the visor held by two ruby-like stones, the helmet with turquoise on top, the helmet held by a back hinge allowing the watch to reveal itself and hold it open. Silver dial with applied baton indexes. Gilt hands. A rhodium-plated movement made by Movado, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, two adjustments, monometallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed, case and dial signed Tiffany & Co.
