A fine, 18K gold Swiss, hunting-cased keyless pocket chronometer with pivoted detent escapement, circa 1900. Cased in the U.S.A. A polished flat band, engine-turned covers with polished borders, the front cover with a vacant foliate cartouche. Hinged brass-rimmed glazed cover to view the movement.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, three-quarter plate, 16 jewels, some in screwed gold chatons, Earnshaw type chronometer escapement with pivoted spring detent, jewelled locking stone, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel helical balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator. Dial and movement signed Chronomètre.
