Swiss double dialled watch with wandering day/date dial Circa 2000

Gold watch created to mark the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet

A unique Swiss pink gold double dialled pocket watch with a wandering day/date dial created to mark the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet, circa 2000. This special watch features a rhodium plated damascened finished movement with lever escapement, 26 jewels and a compensation balance, signed Audemars Piguet. It includes two dials: the first is black lacquered with a guilloché chapter ring, painted copper coloured Roman numerals, applied diamonds, subsidiary seconds, an outer white minute track, pink gold hands and a white subsidiary seconds hand. The second dial is skeletonized with three central rotating glazed discs marked with the months and moving in succession across a silvered sector calibrated for the date. The calendar work is visible mounted to the movement’s backplate beneath a silvered banner and signed Audemars Piguet.

The watch is housed in an 18 carat pink gold case with a front bezel set with two rows of diamonds, a fancy form pendant set with a row of diamonds to the front and a plain polished back bezel. It also features two recessed pushers beside the pendant for date change, one advancing in daily increments and the other with rapid setting, advancing three days at each depression. The watch is numbered E29389.

The movement is functioning well and appears to be in good condition. The dials are in good condition and the case is also good with only some minor scuffs.

As part of Audemars Piguet’s 125th anniversary collection, this watch is from a series of 28 pieces of which 25 were made in platinum and just three in pink gold. The three pink gold examples were decorated with precious stones and fitted with special dials, with their differing settings and styling creating individually unique pieces. 230 brilliant cut diamonds are set to the front of the present watch, having a total weight of approximately 1.61 cts.
