An exquisite quality Extra platinum and gold Art Deco dress watch made by Touchon in Genève, Switzerland for Tiffany in New York, U.S.A., circa 1924. The open faced numbered case of the watch is crafted from platinum and has gold bezels, band, bow and pendant, bears the Tiffany and platinum punches and a gift dedication from the year 1924. The off white enamel dial has an inner ring with applied Art Deco Arabic hour numerals, outer minute dots and gold hands. The numbered movement is extremely thin, has a lever escapement in top quality, is punched Extra, has a Touchon caliber and 19 jewels. The dial is signed Tiffany & Co Switzerland and the movement Touchon & Co Switzerland.

These elegant Tiffany dress watches were almost exclusively equipped with the best Geneva quality movements. Suppliers were mainly Patek Philippe, Meylan and, like in this case, Touchon. Platinum or white gold pieces are extremely rare.

Touchon & Co
A watch manufacturer that was first established in Sécheron, later in Petit-Saconnex (districts of Geneva) and subsequently at 1, Place de la Fusterie. The trademark was registered on February 2, 1907, under No. 21652. The manufacturer, which produced high-quality watches, merged with Agassiz Watch Co. S.A., to launch extra slim watches on the market of 16 1/2″‘- 17/12^th, 15/12^th, 10/12^th and even 10″‘- 10/12^th. This latter movement, fitted in its case, could be concealed into a 20 dollar coin and was awarded the Gold Medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1889 and in 1910, received the highest distinction in Brussels. The company produced these watches for Tiffany. In 1921, Touchon entered into a partnership with Wittnauer, under the new company name of Wittnauer & Cie, for the production of watches and spare parts and moved premises to 4, Rue du Mont-Blanc until 1924.
