A very fine and rare Swiss 18K gold hunting cased minute repeating pocket watch with a Westminster carillon, circa 1900. Tiered à goutte case, the front cover with a lavishly engraved rural scene depicting a crowing cock and a farmhouse in the background, the back cover with a lavishly engraved flower decor, gold dome with dedication engraving Für Fleiss, Treue und Ausdauer (For Diligence, Fidelity and Endurance), a slide for the repeating mechanism. Two-coloured enamel dial with Arabic hours, applied gold ornaments, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold Louis XVI hands. Gilt frosted bridge movement, blued screws, four hammers, four gongs, governor for repetition, screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, counterpoised lever, ruby endstone on the lever and escape wheel.
