Gold complicated full hunter chronograph watch
–
A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased chronograph pocket watch with full calendar and moon phase, of Swiss quality, late 19th to early 20th century. This exceptional grand complication features a pendant wind mechanical movement with a column wheel chronograph mechanism, a Breguet balance spring, a lever escapement, and a dust cover. The white enamel dial displays painted Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, a single aperture at 12 o’clock simultaneously displaying day, date, and month in English, a moon phase aperture with subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a decorative central chronograph seconds hand, and Louis XV style hands for the time. The front cover is finely decorated with a monogram set within an elaborately chased scroll motif. The round 18 carat yellow gold case is of substantial proportions, befitting a watch of this complication. The inner case is in 18 carat yellow gold.
