Silver-gilt open faced in a heart-shaped case

An elegant, large silver-gilt and painted-on enamel heart-shaped pocket watch, circa 1819. The case revealed a hinge-mounted silver gilt open faced pocket watch. With British import stamps for 1819-1820. A heart-shaped case, blue guilloche enamel representing a multicolour bouquet, the back cover decorated with a painted-on enamel scene of a lover’s serenade in a parc, opening to reveal a hinge-mounted pocket watch holder with the stand to hold in the upright position. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute track and blued steel spade hands. Gilt, three-quarter plate movement, elongated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
