Very fine gold hunting cased “Chronomètre Genève”
–
A 14 carat gold Chronomètre pocket made in Switzerland, circa 1900. Crafted entirely in gold, all three covers of the plain full hunter cased watch radiate elegance and sophistication. The dust cover, in particular, bears the distinguished mark of “Chronomètre de Precision,” signifying its exceptional accuracy and reliability. The white enamel dial is glazed and features an outer ring adorned with Arabic numerals for the hours and at the 6 o’clock position, a subsidiary dial proudly displays the minutes, also in Arabic numerals. The hands, made of red gold, add a touch of warmth and complement the overall aesthetic of the timepiece. At the heart of this pocket watch lies a very fine Geneva chronometer movement. This particular movement boasts several impressive features, including a spring detent escapement, cylindrical hairspring, screwed gold chatons and a fine adjustment mechanism.
The dial, dust cover and movement are all proudly marked with the inscription “Chronomètre Genève”.
