Volta is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1996, when the company Ditisheim & Co. registered the name. This firm resulted from the merger of Maurice Ditisheim and Ditisheim Frères, both founded by Gaspard Ditisheim. Besides Vulcain, the brand Volta was also used extensively as a watch brand. In 1911, the company appeared as Ditisheim & Co., Fabrique Vulcain & Volta. This name persisted alongside Vulcain & Studio SA even after 1966.
