A fine Swiss, silver pocket watch with centre seconds, accompanied by a key, circa 1875. Made for the Chinese market. The case with spring-loaded reverse and glazed cuvette. White enamel dial, narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic 15-second numerals. It has blued steel ovoid hands. A gilded and entirely foliate engraved movement, Chinese calibre, ten jewels, free-standing barrel, counterpoised lateral lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, fl at balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed Juvet in Chinese characters.
