A Swiss fine gentleman’s Geneva pocket watch, circa 1900. Sold to Ludwig Wirth, Wien.
18 carat gold “à goutte” Vienna case, tiered, engine turned, with reeded band and gold dome with dedication engraving. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. Bridge movement, frosted, gilt, with wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance and counterpoised “Moustache” lever.

JJ Badollet Swiss watch manufacturer
Jean-Jaques Badollet was a watchmaker in Geneva and founded the watch company JJ Badollet in Geneva in 1779 . He was the younger brother of Jean Ami Badollet and the uncle of Jean-Jaques Badollet . This Jean-Jaques then continued to run the JJ Badollet company until his son Jean Moïse Badollet took over and renamed it JM Badollet and later Jean Moïse Badollet & Cie .
