A very fine and rare, Swiss, manual wind, split-second chronograph with minute-repeater, circa 1900.
The polished 18-carat yellow gold case has a rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o’clock, concealed hinged, and hinged gold cuvette. The dial is white enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer minutes track with red Arabic five minutes numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds, split-seconds chronograph hands, and blued spade hands. And the nickel-silver movement with Geneva striping decoration has 23 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, and repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Accompanied by a fitted box and the extract from the Archives.
