Gold multi coloured gold quarter repeating watch
–
A, probably, Swiss silver and multi coloured gold open faced quarter repeating keywound pocket watch with two striking Jacks, circa 1805. Quarter repeating onto two steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant. The chiselled vari-coloured gold scene shows two Jacquemarts (Jacks), “Les Bons Sauvages”, striking the elapsed time (the man on the right, strikes the hours and the second shot of the quarters while the woman on the left, strikes the first shot of the quarters), all animated by the repeating mechanism.
