A particularly heavy, red gold Swiss Longines chronometer, circa 1900. This watch is a heavy version with a 14K red gold à goutte hunting case that has three gold lids and case number 162989. It has a precision lever movement with rare chronometer quality, a chronometer balance, and a rare and special fine regulation. The enamel dial has Breguet-style radial hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, and presumably original red gold hands. The case is workable but has various flat dents, and the dial is somewhat cracked. This Longines chronometer quality watch is a great rarity and worth refurbishing into a collector’s item.
