A rare Indian independent seconds quarter repeating lever in a gold full hunter case, hallmarked London circa 1863.
18 carat gold engine turned case with engine turned band, numbered and signed gold dome, case maker’s punch mark “HB” and slide for repeating mechanism. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, independent jumping centre seconds and blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, with 2 hammers, 2 gongs, 2 barrels, club-tooth lever escapement, screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.
