Gilt open faced pocket watch

A rare Swiss gilt open faced chronometer made for the Canadian Railway by Louis Brandt & Frère SA, circa 1915. The case has an engine turned, florally engraved screw back with a central monogrammed cartouche, and smooth bezels, pendant and bow. The white enamel dial has Arabic hours, inner 24 hour numerals, outer minute divisions, auxiliary seconds at 6 o’clock, a sunk center and blued hands. The lavishly decorated divided nickel plated ¾ plate grade DDR movement is gold chatoned, has five adjustments, 23 jewels, a pink gold train, chatoned barrel, screw compensation balance, cam type fine adjusting device and diamond endstone on balance.
