A fine Swiss minute repeating lever in a gold full hunter case, circa 1900. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, snailed steel wolf’s teeth winding work. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. Fully jeweled including the pivots to the repeating hammers. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman and Arabic numerals, and gold hands. Plain 14-carat full hunter case, signed gold cuvette, and glazed cover to the movement. Maker’s mark ‘Aug Ericsson’.

In excellent condition. August Ericsson, 1842-1910, opened a workshop in St. Petersburg, Russia about 1875. He supplied marine chronometers to the Imperial Russian Navy. He often used movements from chronometer maker Victor Kullberg, also from Sweden, who set up business in England in 1856.
