A rare Swiss 14K pink gold, keyless digital pocket watch, circa 1900. Using the A. Kaiser system, patented on 24 February 1885 for digital jump hours and minutes. A polished case, front and back cover with engine turning, hinged gold cuvette with dedication inscription. White enamel dial, apertures for hours and minutes, subsidiary seconds. Gilt brass movement, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, notched bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial and movement signed.

Kaiser was based in Freiburg (Friborg) in Switzerland, on December 19, 1883, he received a German patent from the Kaiserlisches Patentamt in Berlin. For an intermediate switching wheel for counters, clocks and the like (Patent Kaiser). These mechanical watches with digital displays are also known as jump number watches. The manufacturer of this watch is unknown, some of the well-known Kaiser watches have the same board cut as the Aeby & Landry watches. Inventor of a digital display for watches: Système A.
