A rare Swiss 18K gold hunting cased quarter repeating pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton, circa 1900.
Gilt 2/3 plate movement, two hammers / two gongs, screw compensation balance. Silver dial with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, applied floral gold foliate centre and border, and blued steel pear hands. Floral engraved, 18K gold case. The spring cover on the back covers the erotic scene of this watch. The romantic scene behind it shows a couple making love in a stately kitchen. The polychrome enamelled figures in front of an engraved, gilded background come to life as soon as the repeater is triggered.
