A Swiss gold hunting cased minute repeating triple calendar chronograph watch with moon phases, circa 1900. The watch features a frosted gilded movement with lever escapement, a bimetallic compensation balance, a blued steel overcoil hairspring, a revolving governor, and two polished steel hammers that repeat on coiled gongs. The steel chronograph mechanism is partially visible through the backplate. It has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer scales for minutes and chronograph seconds, two subsidiary dials for the date and seconds, an aperture for moon phases, two apertures for the day and month, gold filigree hands, and a blued steel central chronograph seconds hand.

The case is made of 18 carat gold with polished covers and features pushers for the repeat and chronograph on the band. Four adjusters are beneath the bezel for manually advancing the day, date, month, and moon phases. The gold cuvette is engraved with exhibition medals, including those from Brussels 1898 and Geneva 1896, and is signed Tempora, with the back cover and cuvette numbered.

Movement is running and repeating. The chronograph starts, stops, and resets correctly. The hands are set smoothly, and the calendar adjusters are operational. The dial has some light scratches and a small, minor chip at the edge below 6 o’clock, which is covered and not visible when the bezel is in place. The case shows light scuffs. The inside back features Swiss hallmarking for 18K.

Guye & Barbezat originated from the watchmaking business of Henri Victor Jean Guye. Guye took his former apprentice, Charles-Ami Barbezat, into the company as a partner and renamed his trading house Guye & Barbezat in 1867. This company name was continued by Charles Barbezat until 1883, even after Henri Guye died in 1877.
