A Swiss gilt metal single-handed neck watch in Renaissance Revival style, circa 1580.
The case is made of a gilt two-piece metal frame with a lobed and fluted glass cover. Gilt florally engraved dial, the centre engraved with a scene depicting a townscape, silvered chapter ring with engraved Roman hours and half-hour division, cut single iron hand. Gilt full plate brass movement, baluster-shaped movement pillars, gut and fusee, verge escapement, two-arm iron balance without spring, pierced and florally engraved balance cock and a top lock with gilt click work.
