Pocket watch with split seconds chronograph

A almost as good as new observatory chronometer with split seconds chronograph, made by Ulysse Nardin SA in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1948. This watch features a plain case crafted from stainless steel and an original numbered enamel dial with chronometer marking, an outer center seconds track with Arabic 5 seconds numerals, a minute and hour track with Arabic 5 minute and hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter at 12 o’clock and steel hands. The numbered movement is equipped with an anker chronometer escapement, a split seconds chronograph rattrapante, a fine adjustment and a fine adjustment.
The dial is signed.

The watch presented here is one of a series of only 402 pieces that were sold in the 1950’s that were previously used as test chronometers at Ulysse Nardin. These pieces have calibers from the 1930’s that were not finalised until the 1940’s and 1950’s.
