Produced in the early 1980s, this watch reflects a time when traditional watchmakers were still recovering from the Quartz Crisis. By showcasing skeletonized designs, watchmakers aimed to highlight the quality and exclusivity of their mechanical movements, emphasising the movement itself rather than concealing it behind a case back. The 1980s also marked the rise in popularity of the tourbillon, captivating collectors and admirers of traditional watchmaking craftsmanship with its mesmerising action. Watches like this one demonstrated the skill of their makers and conveyed their confidence in the future of Haute Horlogerie and mechanical timepieces.
