Matthäus Christian von Hilten was a watchmaker in Frankfurt who became a master in 1729. He died in 1770
This unusual pocket watch shows the portrait of a distinguished gentleman in a blue garment and powdered wig twice.
Once on the outer case and again on the balance bridge of the movement. Who knows, it could be a portrait of the watchmaker himself.
