Gold decorative cylinder watch

A very fine French 18  Carat gold, enamel, pearl and diamond set open faced cylinder pocket watch with a gilt protective case, circa 1783. Full plate movement, cylinder escapement, chain and fusee, three arm brass balance. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. The body is framed by a row of pearls, the case back exquisitely ornamented with a cobalt blue enamel medallion on an engine-turned ground and 37 old cut diamonds, diamond bezels decorate the front and back, charge mark of Henri Clavel, Parisian guild punch mark U for the years 1783-1784. Dial, case and movement numbered.
