An elegant German silver quality 1A open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1884. This watch was fitted in a new silver case of the Lange & Söhne company in 1941.
3/4 Plate movement, lever escapement, gold screwed compensation balance.
Silvered dial with Arabic numerals, the centre engine turned, subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands. Plain case. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered. Comes with original box and certificate.

This was originally one of a series of around 1,000 watches that were tested at the Leipzig observatory between 1883 and 1905. This watch is sold in 1884 for the sum of 484 marks formerly with rating certificate of the observatory Leipzig.
