A rare Swiss 14 carat rose gold hunting cased five minute repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1900. Bridge movement, an ébauche signed LeCoultre & Co, two hammers, two gongs, patented, a club tooth lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with black Arabic hours, an outer minute track, red Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade & whip hands. A plain case. Dial signed, case numbered, movement signed and numbered, movement and case with matching numbers.

In 1852, the Swiss watchmaker Constantin Othenin Girard founded the company Girard & Cie in La Chaux-de-Fonds. He married Marie, the sister of renowned chronometer maker Henri Perregaux in 1956. In the same year, Girard and his brother-in-law established Girard-Perregaux.
