Due to the high demand during World War II, the U.S. Navy demanded a massive expansion of capacities from the American manufacturers. Almost overnight, Hamilton managed to produce chronometers in large numbers based on Ulysse Nardin’s caliber, which met the highest standards in terms of manufacture and accuracy. From 1942 to the end of the war production reached over 10,000 units.
