Gold and enamel form watch

An extremely rare gold and enamel compass rose shaped pendant watch, circa 1820. This watch is crafted from 18 carat gold and is shaped as a semi sphere with a bird on top, decorated with green enamel and the bottom in the form of a compass rose, which is also enamelled and hinged. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour and fifteen minute numerals and blued steel hands. The numbered miniature movement has an escapement which was converted from a verge to a cylinder version. The watch is accompanied by a short watch chain with a key.
